I love hearing about what people do for work – the variety of ways that people earn a living seems limitless. I’m on a quest to find as many women as I can with all sorts of different jobs, collect their experiences with the work they do all day long, and share them here. I want to know what drives them, what exactly it is they do for over 2,000 hours a year, what led them to where they are, and what they are shooting for next.
“Obra” is a useful word in Spanish. Included among its many translations are: work (as in an artistic work), deed, construction, life’s work, workmanship. It’s the intersection of motivation and passion, drive and creativity. Let’s learn from, take comfort in, and be inspired by each other’s successes and failures… and be excited the next time someone asks “So, what do you do?”
Check out the story behind the blog: VoyageLA Magazine covers local artists, entrepreneurs, and small businesses in their Inspiring Stories collection, and I'm excited to have been part of it!
